Anyone who follows the efforts of human beings to enter and explore outer space knows that right now, private exploration seems to be where the progress is made. While NASA seems to have stalled over the last 20 years while being smothered in government red tape, companies like SpaceX have moved forward with ideas previously thought impossible in just a decade. SpaceX’s new Starship combines their Starship Spacecraft atop their Super Heavy rocket and will be the most powerful launch vehicle ever developed. But will it get us to Mars?
SpaceX’s Starship and Super Heavy launch vehicle is a fully, rapidly reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and anywhere else in the solar system.

The Progress of Starship
Starship is mostly still in the design phase and not nearly ready for flight. But with SpaceX’s rapid success in the space exploration industry, there’s a good chance that this (or a later version) may be what actually lands man on the red planet.
If I had to guess, if SpaceX can remain financially sound, they may be the first to actually make human space travel to other planets possible. But space exploration costs a lot of money, and much of that money goes up in flames – literally. Elon Musk has lots of other businesses that bring money to the table, but they also bring liabilities and risk. Only time will tell if SpaceX will make it long enough to make good on all those lofty goals.
