Unless you live under a rock or don’t have a Facebook account, you’ve probably heard about the Area 51 raid. That’s right boys and girls, we’re going to go see them aliens.
Okay, so if you’re not aware, the backstory to this is pretty funny. One day some guy just went and created a Facebook group called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us,” as a joke.
In just a matter of weeks, there were 2 million people signed up to go! Yeah, you read that right.
To make a long story short here, there have been many messages, interviews and all sorts of comments coming from different governing bodies saying things like this: “Yeah…don’t actually do that or bad things are going to happen to you.”
Fast forward to now, and we have Alien Stock. This is a three-day festival planned “in place” of the raid. This is set to be an excursion with music, food, dancing, and more likely than not people will have to camp out for it. If you’re in need of camping gear or general advice on how to camp in the desert, SleepReports.com posted an Area 51 Raid article that has links to camping gear you might need, as well as tips for camping in the desert.
If camping isn’t quite your thing, then you might be out of luck. The small town of Rachel, Nevada near Area 51 and the extraterrestrial highway has an Inn called the Little A’Le’Inn, and it was booked solid almost as soon as that Facebook post was made. So, either you’re going to have to make a commute or sleep on the ground.
The event is scheduled for September 20th, so there is still plenty of time to get all situated with your travel arrangements. So, grab your tinfoil hats and a couple of beers; let’s all get ready for Alien Stock 2019! Everyone stay safe and have a great time!
